Description
A woman is shown from the shoulders up, right of centre, her head tilted down and her body angled slightly to one side. She is rendered in greyscale with only faint warmth in it.
Six flowers open around her, three above and three below, two at the lower left and one at the lower right. Their petals are golden yellow, their centres deep crimson, their stamens black. Fine stems in tan and ochre curve between them and across the sheet.
The ground is pale cream, carrying soft grey shapes that follow the contours of the figure and give depth without describing any place.
She is greyscale and the flowers are not, so the only colour in the sheet belongs to what surrounds her rather than to her. She looks down, away from all six. No signature.
Preservation Notes
PROVISIONAL. Assessment from visual inspection of a digital image only. No physical examination. TITLE IS A PLACEHOLDER The source filename is NouraAlqasia1(2).jpg. The bracketed numbering is an operating-system duplicate convention, not the artist's naming, and it wrongly implies this is a variant of another file. It is a separate composition. Replace the title as soon as the artist supplies a real one. PART OF A COHERENT GROUP OF FIVE One of five related files sharing identical dimensions of 3508 x 2480 landscape, a uniform cream ground, a warm gold and red palette, soft translucent handling, and no signature. Each is a distinct composition. DIMENSIONS, STRONG INFERENCE 3508 x 2480 px is exactly A4 at 300 dpi, that is 297 x 210 mm. Either scanned from A4 paper or made on a digital canvas at that preset. Not asserted pending confirmation. SELECTIVE COLOUR, A SUSTAINED DEVICE A greyscale figure set against fully coloured flowers appears here and also in Identity, Noura11, Noura13, Noura14, and the Heritage group. Across that many works it is plainly a deliberate and central device rather than a stylistic habit. It must be preserved in reproduction. No filters, no conversion to greyscale or to full colour, no colour correction that would flatten the difference between the figure and the flowers. MATERIAL ASSESSMENT Automated inspection suggested watercolour and ink with loose gestural marks and translucent washes. Unconfirmed. HANDLING If watercolour and ink on paper, light-sensitive. Limit display exposure and control humidity.
