Horse Head – My First Experience in Sculpture Using Scrap and Metal Pieces
A welded assemblage in salvaged metal reading as an animal head in profile, oriented horizontally and projecting to the right. The cranial form is built from curved and angular sheet offcuts over what appears to be an armature of rod and angle iron, with fasteners visible across the structure. From the back of the head, multiple hanging strands descend and trail backward in the position of a mane. The surface finish is uneven, with blackened passages that read as oxidation, patina, or paint against lighter areas of barer metal. The work was photographed against a plain light wall, mounted or suspended, with no base visible in frame.
The surviving photograph is 425 x 404 pixels. Weld seams, fastener types, the specific salvaged components, any maker's marks, and the mounting method cannot be determined from it.

STATUS Physical work destroyed, no longer extant. Recorded 2026-09-18 on the instruction of Sky, PAPA: the artist's studio and home were destroyed in Israeli airstrikes and no physical work in this collection is known to survive. This record documents a work that no longer exists. SURVIVING RECORD, CRITICAL One digital image, 425 x 404 px, 21 KB JPEG. Among the three weakest captures in this collection. Recovery of a better file should be treated as urgent. DIGITAL PRESERVATION Highest priority alongside Hanging Dreams and Hanging dreams II. Ask the artist for any original camera file, phone backup, messaging app copy, or social media upload, including poor ones. Check the Instagram account recorded on his artist page. Store whatever is recovered as an uncompressed master with a checksum and a copy outside the Content Lake. MATERIAL RECORD Scrap metal and iron pieces, 20 x 40 cm. CATALOGUING HISTORY An earlier note on this record treated the 2015 workshop mentioned in the artist's biography as conflicting with this work's recorded year. Clarified 2026-09-18 on the instruction of Sky, PAPA: the artist has made many horses, and the 2015 workshop was one he ran to teach others how to make them. These are not competing accounts of a single object. This record is one horse among several and should not be assumed to be the first. Note that the artist's biography on his artist record states he came to sculpture through a workshop in 2015 where he made his first iron piece, a horse's head. That wording describes him as a participant rather than as the person teaching. The biography has not been altered. The two accounts should be reconciled with the artist before either is used publicly. OUTSTANDING 1. Year created. A correction was offered in session but the year given was not usable, so the field still reads 2019 and has not been touched. See the open query with Sky. 2. A usable image. Urgent. 3.
