Artistic Experiments in Oil Painting
A still life arranged in shallow depth against a dark brown ground that warms toward reddish brown at the upper left. Three elements sit on white drapery filling the lower two thirds of the canvas: a broken open rounded form, pale tan on the outside and reddish brown within, its rim jagged where it is split, placed upper center; a yellow lemon left of center and below it; and a small round orange fruit right of center.
Light enters from the upper left, throwing cast shadows below and to the right of the broken form and the fruit, and catching the left edges of both fruits and the upper folds of the cloth. Warm browns, tans, reds, and ochres hold the background and the broken form, with the yellow and orange as the only saturated notes and cool whites and grays in the drapery. Brushwork is loose and directional in the background, more blended in the fruit, and left as separate visible strokes, thickly loaded in places, in the folds of the cloth. Canvas texture shows through the background.
A signature in dark paint sits at the lower left. It is not fully legible at archival resolution.

Preservation Notes
STATUS Physical work destroyed, no longer extant. Recorded 2026-09-18 on the instruction of Sky, PAPA: the artist's studio and home were destroyed in Israeli airstrikes and no physical work in this collection is known to survive. This record documents a work that no longer exists. SURVIVING RECORD One digital image, 1182 x 1600 px, 287 KB JPEG. Good capture, sufficient for study, screen publication, and modest print reproduction. DIGITAL PRESERVATION The image file is now the artifact. Obtain the artist's original camera file if it still exists, store an uncompressed master alongside the JPEG, record a checksum, and hold a copy outside the Content Lake. Do not re-crop, re-compress, or color-correct the existing file. MATERIAL RECORD Oil on canvas, 60 x 40 cm. OUTSTANDING 1. The description field holds only the phrase "Artistic Experiments in Oil Painting," duplicated word for word from the artist's notes. No description of the painting exists. Keywords here are limited to what the medium and title support, and should be expanded once a description is written. 2. Whether "Still Life" is the artist's title or a cataloguer's placeholder. 3. Whether this work belongs to a group of studies alongside Untitled and Portrait of Dirgham Qreiqea, all oil on canvas and all recorded as 2021. 4. Original camera files.
