A sculptural work created using air-dry clay, depicting a human hand symbolizing resistance and the struggle to hold on to life amid destruction. The bullet casings beside it represent war, violence, and their aftermath, in contrast to the human spirit that continues to hold on to life and hope.
Preservation Notes
STATUS Physical work destroyed, no longer extant. Recorded 2026-09-18 on the instruction of Sky, PAPA: the artist's studio and home were destroyed in Israeli airstrikes and no physical work in this collection is known to survive. This record documents a work that no longer exists. SURVIVING RECORD One digital image, 1086 x 1448 px, 120 KB JPEG. Adequate for study and for screen publication. Below the resolution normally wanted for print reproduction at full scale. DIGITAL PRESERVATION The image file is now the artifact. Obtain the artist's original camera file if it still exists, store an uncompressed master alongside the JPEG, record a checksum, and hold a copy outside the Content Lake. Do not re-crop, re-compress, or color-correct the existing file. It may be the only surviving capture. MATERIAL RECORD Air-dry clay, 40 x 20 cm. The description records a human hand with bullet casings placed beside it. Whether the casings were a fixed part of the object or a separate element in the arrangement is not recorded. OUTSTANDING 1.
