Description

"Once a soul meets its like, it recovers, heals, and becomes whole."

A vertical composition in a predominantly blue palette running from bright cyan through deep navy to black, with gold-ochre accents along the left edge. Two semi-representational forms emerge from the field: a dark, roughly rendered face in the lower center with the mouth discernible, and an open, multi-fingered hand in the upper right. Both are partly obscured by the paint laid over them.

The whole surface is worked with vertical streaking and downward runs of paint, dense and built up on the left side and around the figurative passages, thinner elsewhere. The handling is gestural throughout, applied in visible layers, with the marks interrupting the forms rather than defining them.

A signature and the date 2023 appear at the lower left, partly obscured.

STATUS Physical work destroyed, no longer extant. Recorded 2026-09-18 on the instruction of Sky, PAPA: the artist's studio and home were destroyed in Israeli airstrikes and no physical work in this collection is known to survive. Good capture, sufficient for study, screen publication, and modest print reproduction. DIGITAL PRESERVATION The image file is now the artifact. Obtain the artist's original camera file if it still exists, store an uncompressed master alongside the JPEG, record a checksum, and hold a copy outside the Content Lake. Do not re-crop, re-compress, or color-correct the existing file. MATERIAL RECORD Acrylic on canvas, 60 x 40 cm. OUTSTANDING 1. The description field holds only a quotation: "Once a soul meets its like, it recovers, heals, and becomes whole." No description of the painting itself exists. Keywords here are limited to what can be verified from the medium alone, and should be expanded once a description is written. 2. The source of the quotation is not attributed. Confirm with the artist whether it is his own line or a citation. 3. Original camera files.
