Digitally created becaseu Ahmed is currently living and residing in Cairo Egypt in exile from his native homeland Palestine, all of his studio and works had been destroyed in the Israeli bombing of his home and studio. --- TECHNICAL NOTES ADDED 15 OCTOBER 2026 Approved by Sky, Director of Operations. Original note above retained unchanged. THE ARCHIVED FILE IS A SCREENSHOT, NOT THE ARTWORK This is the most serious finding on this record and should be treated as urgent. The file held in the archive is a screen capture of a social media or gallery interface, not an export of the work. Dark interface bars are present at the top and bottom edges, a partial icon is cut off at top centre, a circular next-item button sits at the mid-right edge, and two carousel dot indicators sit centred at the bottom with the first dot active. Anti-aliasing fringing on the interface elements confirms a second-generation capture. Three consequences follow. First, the archive does not hold this work. It holds a photograph of a screen showing this work. The surrounding presentation layer is cropped at the left and right edges, and a duplicated blurred enlargement of the artwork has been auto-generated as backdrop fill behind the card, which means even the visible framing is not the artist's. Second, the carousel indicator shows this was item one of two in a multi-image post. A second image exists that the archive does not have. It may be a detail, a verso, a companion work, or a variant. Third, at 985 x 1133 px with visible JPEG artifacting, banding in the background gradients, and frame-border texture degraded into blocky noise, this file is unusable for reproduction, printing, or detailed study. Obtaining the original export, and the second image from the post, should be treated as a preservation action with a limited window. This is the single most recoverable gap in this collection. TECHNIQUE, SO FAR AS THE CAPTURE ALLOWS Digital raster painting consistent with a layered painting application using textured brushes, with stroke-visible hatching in the robe, halo, and background. Hard black contour lines throughout suggest an inked line layer over flat fills with soft airbrush and gradient shading beneath. Heavy use of texture overlays: a grain and speckle layer across the card face, a scratched or fibrous overlay in the frame borders, and a mottled paper texture on the card stock. Metallic gold is simulated by painted gradients and highlights rather than photographic elements; no photo-compositing is evident. The card frame ornamentation and cartouche outline read as vector or shape-tool derived, with uniform stroke weight and clean symmetrical curves, contrasting with the painterly interior. Limited palette: desaturated olive and brown ground, warm gold, black, and off-white. The work is composed as a playing card. Serif "K" indices paired with spade pips appear at upper left and, inverted, at lower right, with a small monogram or glyph embedded within the lower-right pip. SIGNATURE Lower left of the card face, in lowercase letter-spaced type: art_ahmed_h. This functions as the artist's signature or handle and is part of the work rather than an applied label. The forename is confirmed as Ahmed by the Director of Operations, 15 October 2026, who notes PAPA holds a contract with the artist. DIMENSIONS Recorded as 20 x 16 with the unit unset. The capture is 985 x 1133 px, a ratio of roughly 0.87, which does not match the recorded ratio of 1.25. Given that the file is a screenshot with interface cropping, the file ratio cannot be used to assess the work's true proportions. Both values stand; neither has been changed. Resolving this depends on obtaining the original export. RECORD STATUS Archival status is set to pending, the only work in this collection in that state.
