Description

Paint on canvas mounted on corrugated cardboard, the tan kraft board visible at the edges. No printed packaging text, logo, or stamp appears on the support.

A single figure stands upright and slightly tilted at the center of a vertical composition. The head and upper body are carried as a dark silhouette with little internal detail; the lower body and limbs are built from loose tangled strokes. The figure is suggested rather than described, and clothing is not clearly delineated.

The upper half of the sheet is filled with swirling spiral strokes, with a peak or mountain form at top center. The lower half turns more angular and fragmented, with vertical streaking through the blue ground. The palette runs deep navy through mid blue, with gold-ochre, white, cream, black, and grey. Impasto is heavy throughout, the marks directional and layered.

No lettering is visible. No signature or date is visible in the archived image.

Record status: the artist has not supplied a title, dimensions, or a statement about this work. Everything described above is observable in the archived image and has not been verified against the physical work. No creasing, staining, or tearing is apparent in the photograph. The concept and story portion of this field is left empty pending the artist's own words.

Artist Notes

No artist notes supplied for this work. The source record from which this work was separated (302b1596-4f26-4834-9b1a-7a31152c768c, "Night of Love in the Tent") records verbatim: "Artist doesnt want write notes on this one". That note was entered against the source record and it is NOT established that it was given about this specific work. Recorded 2026-09-17. Anything entered in this field must be Ahmed Muhanna's own words, quoted or summarized from a source he supplied. Do not paraphrase on his behalf.

Preservation Notes

--- RECORD PROVENANCE --- Separated on 2026-09-17 from art record 302b1596-4f26-4834-9b1a-7a31152c768c ("Night of Love in the Tent"), where three image files had been uploaded to a single record. PAPA (Sky, Art Collection Manager and Director of Operations) confirmed on 2026-09-17 that only the file ahmedMuhanna03.jpeg is the work titled "Night of Love in the Tent", and that the other two files are separate works. Source file for this record: ahmedMuhanna04.jpeg. Archived master 991 x 1387 px, 312 KB JPEG. The companion work separated in the same operation is recorded as "As Yet Untitled -Ahmed Muhanna 05" (source file ahmedMuhanna05.jpeg). --- INHERITED AND UNVERIFIED FIELDS --- The following were carried over from the source record at separation and are NOT independently verified for this work. Do not treat them as confirmed: Year of creation: 2025, inherited. No date is visible on the work. Medium: "acrylic paints on A3 Canson", inherited. NOTE A DIRECT CONFLICT: the archived image of this work reads as paint on canvas mounted on corrugated cardboard, not as paint on Canson paper. The inherited medium may be wrong for this work. It has not been altered. Confirm with the artist. Location: Gaza, inherited and unverified. Title: "As Yet Untitled -Ahmed Muhanna 04" is a placeholder following the naming convention PAPA uses for this artist's untitled works. It is NOT the artist's title. The artist has not supplied one. Dimensions: Unknown. The source record carries height 17 and width 12 with no unit stated; those figures belong to the source record and were deliberately NOT copied here, as there is no basis for applying them to this work. Do not infer dimensions from image proportions. Materials: Not yet recorded. --- CONDITION, FROM PHOTOGRAPH ONLY --- Observations from the archived image, NOT verified against the physical work. Support reads as canvas mounted on corrugated cardboard, with the cardboard visible at the edges. Heavy impasto throughout, most pronounced in the swirling upper passages. No creasing, staining, or tearing apparent. Whether the physical work survives, and its condition: Not yet recorded. HANDLING: the impasto is thick and the mount is corrugated cardboard, which is weak in compression and likely acidic. Avoid stacking, avoid surface pressure, and do not attempt cleaning; soft acrylic abrades easily and dry-cleaning methods used on drawings will damage it. The preservation notes on the source record describe a red mount board. This work has a tan kraft corrugated mount, not a red one, so that guidance describes a different work in the group and should not be applied here. --- RIGHTS AND REPRODUCTION --- NOTE: the 'art' document type has no rights, credit, or licensing field. This section is a prose workaround and should be migrated to structured fields when they exist. STANDING POSITION, stated by PAPA's Director of Operations and Art Collection Manager (Sky) on 2026-09-17, applying to every artist represented on papaart.org and to this record without separate confirmation: CONTRACTS: PAPA holds an executed contract with every artist represented. PAPA'S GRANT: exclusive rights to reproduce the work as prints and to distribute those prints. COPYRIGHT: retained by the artist, Ahmed Muhanna. PAPA is a licensee, not a rights owner. ARTIST REVENUE: the artist receives the NET profits from print sales. Net, not gross. CREDIT LINE: copyright attributed to the artist, with PAPA credited separately as distributor. CUSTODY: executed contracts are held off-system by the Art Collection Manager and are not uploaded to this dataset. PUBLIC COPY CAUTION: because the artist's share is calculated on NET, public-facing material must not state or imply that 100 percent of the sale price goes to the artist. The accurate phrasing is 100 percent of net profits. --- SOURCE FILE FIDELITY --- Archived master is 991 x 1387 px, 312 KB. This supports print at approximately 8.4 x 11.7 cm at 300 DPI. It is the smallest capture in this group and is NOT sufficient for reproduction at any substantial scale. Check pixel dimensions against intended print size before this work goes to print. If a higher-fidelity capture becomes possible, replace the master and update this note. --- OPEN ITEMS --- 1. Artist's own title for this work. 2. Confirm the medium. The inherited value conflicts with the image. 3. Dimensions, with units stated. 4. Whether the source record's artist note ("Artist doesnt want write notes on this one") was given about this work or only about "Night of Love in the Tent". 5. Condition and survival of the physical work.
