Cold Hands
Description
Two hands hold the head of a child, symbolizing the tragedy
that words cannot express. The first hand gently touches
the small body, as if attempting to bring it back to life or
alleviate the weight of the loss, while the other hand carries
the silent pain that accompanies every moment of death. In
that moment, understanding cannot comprehend the scale
of the loss, and the hands cannot reverse time or correct
reality. The scene expresses helplessness in the face of
death and shows the tension between trying to preserve
something that was once alive and the harsh reality that
stands as a barrier to any hope.
Preservation Notes
Osama's works have all been destroyed since October 7 2023, during what is now termed one of the most departing modern day holocaust's of our generation. These latest sketches are all done on his laptop that he has managed to salvage, and uses it as so many in his circumstance as an artistic tool to create and keep creating his sketches and drawings.
