Meet Nada Al-Khatib, a 24-year-old Palestinian artist from Gaza.

I’m Nada Al-Khatib, a 24-year-old Palestinian artist from Gaza. Art has been a part of me since I was five years old, influenced by my mother, who is also an artist. Growing up in a creative environment, my siblings and I naturally developed this talent. Over time, with study and practice, I kept improving. The support and encouragement from those around me made me feel that what I was creating was something beautiful, and that feeling kept fueling my growth.

In 2019, my work took a turning point—art became more personal, reflecting my emotions and personality. My paintings became deeply connected to me. The stories and experiences of people around me influenced my work the most, shaping my paintings into visual narratives.

Now, let me talk about how my art changed before and after October 7th. The transformation was massive. We, as individuals, changed drastically after that day, and naturally, my art changed too. However, one thing that remained constant is my focus on emotions. I strive to capture people’s feelings through colors, gazes, eyes, and the lines in my paintings.
