Meet Ahmed Hamada, a 23-year-old visual artist from Gaza
Hello, I’m Ahmed Hamada, a 23-year-old visual artist from Gaza. I discovered my talent for art at the age of 15 and began developing myself through educational art channels. I’ve explored various techniques, but I mostly work in fantasy and realism styles. Among the Palestinian artists who have inspired me the most are Mr. Fathi Ghabin and Suleiman Mansour.
Before October 7th, I worked on small paintings and participated in group exhibitions. Then, I decided to hold my own solo exhibition and started a series of paintings. After completing the first piece, the war broke out, my plans fell apart, and my studio, along with the painting, was destroyed.
Since October 7th, my art style has changed. I started expressing my suffering and reality through painting. Before the war, I used to draw about my struggle with cancer, but after the war, the suffering doubled—I now paint about both the war and the illness.
In the future, I hope to participate in international exhibitions to share our story as Palestinians and bring art into every Arab and Western home. I want the world to see who we are and to preserve our cause for future generations.
